Management Experience

Our management team has successfully pioneered and managed offshore call centers and back office processing companies that service the US market.Two of these companies are HealthScribe, Inc., the third largest medical transcription company in the world, and FirstRing, Inc., the leading call center in India now known as ICICI OneSource.



Gurujot Singh Khalsa, President and CEO

Gurujot Singh Khalsa has an extensive history of starting and building companies in emerging markets.

  • FirstRing, Inc. Founder and Chief Executive Officer of FirstRing (now known as ICICI OneSource, www.icicionesource.com), the first outsourced call center company in the US servicing Fortune 100 companies in India. Gurujot Singh was CEO until company was sold to ICICI at the end of 2001.

  • HealthScribe, Inc. HealthScribe, Inc. founder, CEO, and then Chairman of HealthScribe (now known as Spheris, www.spheris.com), the second largest medical transcription company worldwide and the first to use state-of-the-art proprietary technology that allows the company access to low-cost, Indian semi-professional labor.   The company currently has revenues in excess of $200 million.

  • Kriya Systems, Inc. Gurujot Singh was CEO and 90% owner of Kriya Systems, Inc., a software development and back office processing company known for its development of Typing Tutor, the first computer typing training program and a number one, best-selling educational software from 1983 to 1991. It was sold to Simon & Schuster in 1993.

  • National Office Supply. Gurujot Singh founded National Office Supply, a telemarketing center with 95 agents and $8 million in annual revenues, 1984 and sold it 5 years later.
Prior to founding National Office Supply, Gurujot Singh founded a sales training company that was sold in 1988. He has also founded several other retail and service businesses. He has been a serious and successful entrepreneur all his adult life. He graduated from Shippensburg University in 1968 with a BS in education.

Vera Gibran, Vice President Employee Development

Vera has 10 years of international business experience with entrepreneurial companies.

  • FirstRing, Inc. FirstRing, Inc. Vera was with FirstRing from its inception in early 1999 and managed the majority of its early development in India. She was the architect of FirstRing's proprietary 320-hour cross-cultural training program. She was Vice President, Performance Development as well as designing and developing the strategically important Performance Development Department. Vera was also responsible for the design and production of FirstRing's sales and marketing campaign. She lived in India until September 2001 when she came to the US to work on the start of WorldBridge International.

  • Gibran Resources, LLC. Previous to FirstRing, Vera co-owned and managed several family-owned international businesses that are still operating successfully today. As Development Director her main responsibilities were focused on exploration, strategic planning, raising capital, set up and implementation, and sales and marketing.
In addition, she has held public relations and marketing positions at prestigious agencies. Vera graduated from Mary Baldwin College.

Guru Amrit S. Khalsa, Chief Technology Officer, Consultant

Guru Amrit S. Khalsa has an extensive history of leading the technology operations of emerging companies in emerging markets.

  • FirstRing, Inc. Mr. Khalsa was the CTO and co- founder of FirstRing, Inc., where he was responsible for managing the company's overall technology operations, including information technology, telecom vendor relations, and technical sales support

  • HealthScribe, Inc. Guru Amrit was the VP of Technology and co-founder of HealthScribe. He was responsible for building the IT department, developing production workflow systems, and setting up the corporate office in India.

  • Kriya Systems, Inc. Mr. Khalsa was the VP of Technology of Kriya systems, responsible for systems analysis and new business development.
Prior to Kriya Systems, Guru Amrit was an operations manager for a wholesale company involved in offshore manufacturing. He has a BA from Princeton.

Siri Daya Singh Khalsa, Vice President US Operations

Siri Daya Singh Khalsa has created and managed off shore BPO systems in both the technical and operational disciplines.

  • Process Builders, LLC. Mr. Khalsa provided consulting and management services to both BPO providers and BPO customers. The services included technical systems design, work process design and management, and due diligence services for choosing off shore providers. Customers included Broadlane, Wipro, and Harvard Medical International among others. Industries included Pharmaceutical, Financial Services, and IT. Gained specialty knowledge of Indian, Philippine, South African, Czech, Costa Rican, and Irish BPO through placing and managing work there.
  • HealthScribe, Inc. Siri Daya Singh was part of the founding group and held positions in both the Indian and US corporations including Director of Operations, managing a combined workforce of 1400 of Indian and US Transcriptionists. HealthScribe was the largest medical transcription company in India and the third largest in the industry when Spheris acquired it in 2004.
  • Kriya Systems, Inc. Siri Daya Singh was Manager- Business Development for the software house. New lines developed included automation of Consumer Mortgage, Automotive Retailing, and educational institution sales of their core product, Typing Tutor.
  • National Office Supply. Siri Daya started as one of 5 telemarketers upon college gradation in 1985 and rose to General Manger. Held primary management responsibility of sales, A/R, Customer Service, shipping, and inventory departments. The company grew to over $8 million in annual sales before it was sold in 1989.
He graduated from University of Florida in 1985 with a BA in Economics.

Brian Hilliard, Controller, South Africa

Mr. Hilliard is a well respected and experienced South African business person who has been brought to the WBI team to add local South African business expertise.

  • Shell Southern Africa. From 1986 to 2002 Mr. Hilliard was with Shell based in South Africa. He served as Controller, Group Tax Adviser and Finance Manager.
  • Public Accounting. Mr. Hilliard served for 8 years with Deloitte, Touch and KPMG.
In addition, Mr Hilliard was a Commercial Property Manager for JCI, Otd and was with the South African Sugar Association. He is a holder of an MBA from the University of Capetown and is a South African Chartered Accountant. He is a Higher Diploma in Tax Law from the University of Witwatersrand.
